ATLANTA GAS LIGHT - PRESSURE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
__
AGL has begun the Wade Green Road Phase II Pressure Improvement Project, which will bring construction activity and intermittent traffic disruptions to several major corridors near our community.
What’s Happening
Atlanta Gas Light is installing a new natural gas distribution pipeline in northwest Cobb County and southwest Cherokee County. This new line will connect to the existing system at both ends to improve capacity, safety, and service reliability across the region.
Where
The project corridor includes:
Jiles Place / Moon Station Road (Kennesaw)
Baker Road
Woodstock Road
Highway 92
Woodland Drive (Cherokee County)
Construction will move in phases along this route, so impacts will shift as crews progress.
When
Pipeline installation: Early August 2025 through December 2025
System connections & roadway restoration: May continue into Spring 2026
What to Expect
Residents may experience:
Intermittent lane closures and reduced speeds
Construction noise during daytime work hours
Temporary driveway or side-street access changes near active work zones (flaggers will assist)
Construction crews and equipment staged along the roadway
Please use extra caution when traveling through these areas.
Travel Tips
To help minimize delays:
Plan for extra travel time if you use Baker Road, Woodstock Road, or Highway 92
Use alternate routes when possible, such as:
I-575 / Chastain Road
Wade Green Road
Shallowford Road
Always follow posted signage and flagger directions for everyone’s safety
